First Response & Relief

On April 25th, the mountainous country of Nepal was struck with a 7.8 Magnitude Earthquake. Eight million people have been effected and thousands have lost their lives in this tragedy.

MAP1040 has mobilized to provide food and water in Kathmandu, Nepal and is currently providing Initial Damage Assessments to support teams. The priority is First Response & Relief while a long-term relief plan is developed. Communications are limited and travel is heavily restricted within the country, cities, & villages due to the harsh terrain, rough weather, & an unprepared infrastructure.

This is the hour of salvation for Nepal.

We are partnering with seasoned & local missionaries to provide immediate relief in Nepal. Within 10 days, our partner team, led by Nick Rogers (Children's Rescue) will be in Kathmandu. We have previously partnered with Nick for First Response & Relief in 2004 in Sri Lanka after the Tsunami that devastated the island.

OUT OF GREAT BROKENESS COMES GREAT BLESSING.

MAP1040 is currently planning a relief mission to be in Nepal by mid-May 2015. We will be developing a long-term relief strategy with support teams, government officials, and local churches. We have been responders for the 2004 Tsunami in Sri Lanka and the 2010 Earthquake in Haiti.
